Kivu belt tour is an eco-tour and adventure to Rwanda's safari destinations along the Lake Kivu belt. The tour is a complete guide to Lake Kivu, the National Parks of Giswati Mukura and Nyungwe, the Napoleon Islands, Ibere Rya Bigogwe and the beaches. The Kivu belt stretches from Gisenyi town in the north over the pictorial landscape in Karongi along the mountain forests of Giswati and Nyungwe to the fishing villages of Rusizi town. The three towns are interconnected with well-paved roads with breathtaking views of the green landscapes with tea plantations, the vibrant rural settlements and the endless widening Lake Kivu. However, you still cover the adventurous Congo Nile Trail on biking or hiking routes.

This will take you from the starting point of planting in the necessary beds to the gardens, where coffee is picked and preserved. You will witness the traditional way of roasting coffee until the final product is ready for consumption. Cooperatives have conducted several tours over the years to give visitors an insight into how coffee is made in Rwanda. By the end of this coffee tour, a cup of locally-grown coffee will be served to you to feel the taste of Rwanda's produce. All this will be conducted by a local guide from the cooperative at a fee.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="892" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]Kivu Belt is in Western Rwanda, along Lake Kivu shores. At the northern end is the border town of Rubavu, previously known as Gisenyi. This is a lively town at the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Without a doubt, this is the public beach with bars close to the centre of town, a great place to hang out and enjoy drinks and food in a laid-back setup. Here, in this town, starts the Congo Nile Trail. In about 10 km south of Rubavu you will find the smaller, picturesque town, Karongi known for its archipelago of islands and its many beautiful resorts along the shores of Lake Kivu. It's also known by locals as a weekend getaway, where you will enjoy swimming or a boat ride to the islands. Further 10 km south, you will find the larger but buzzing border town known as Cyangugu. This is mostly famous for its proximity to the rainforests of Nyungwe National Park, and is also a great place for relaxing on the shores of Lake Kivu.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="899" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="648" img_size="full"][vc_separator color="black" css=".vc_custom_1728588960847{margin-top: 1px !important;margin-bottom: 11px !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
