From Materuni village, the hike is 30 minutes through the agricultural village and then deep into the forest. Materuni enriches a day of experience, providing a captivating blend of natural beauty with the immersion of culture. Climbing Kilimanjaro or a stand-alone day tour to Materuni, there's always an authentic experience for anyone choosing these tours in Tanzania. The Materuni village is one of the most visited places in the Moshi region because of its Materuni waterfall highlight. But there's more to do here in this village. The combination of the local coffee experience and the Chagga lunch makes it a great day trip. You will know about the Chagga people, who have lived on the slopes of Kilimanjaro mountains for centuries.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=".vc_custom_1727521095283{margin-bottom: 11px !important;}"][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text="Costs and visits to Materuni waterfalls" font_container="tag:h2|font_size:31|text_align:left|color:%23000000" google_fonts="font_family:Dosis%3A200%2C300%2Cregular%2C500%2C600%2C700%2C800|font_style:600%20bold%20regular%3A600%3Anormal" css=".vc_custom_1727522062290{margin-top: 1px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}"][vc_column_text]Materuni is 45 minutes drive from Moshi town. But if you are travelling from Arusha it takes 2 hours and 40 minutes depending on the traffic. It's important to note that you can not do the Materuni waterfall by yourself. There are guides at the village office you can negotiate a fee which is always between 20 and 25 dollars person and this can be supplemented by some tips, but this is for small groups of 8 to 10 people. The Chagga coffee experience is about 5 dollars and is privately run by locals, but if you travel as an individual you might pay more, up to 10 dollars. For the waterfall, if you go on organised tours you may be likely to pay 60 dollars per person, in a group of 4 people. If you go solo 80 dollars might be charged to up to 2 persons.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="692" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded" css=".vc_custom_1727520875953{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}"][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="695" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded" css=".vc_custom_1727520963125{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}"][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width="1/3"][vc_single_image image="694" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded" css=".vc_custom_1727520938530{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}"][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image css=".vc_custom_1728677763633{margin-top: 5px !important;margin-bottom: 4px !important;}"][vc_separator color="black" css=".vc_custom_1728677773341{margin-top: 1px !important;margin-bottom: 11px !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
