With its proximity to the Arusha region, it makes it easier to access. Safaris here are mostly combined with Serengeti Safaris for a complete northern Safari circuit. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, which also acts as a lifeline to the mammals that call this place their home. During the dry season, more wildlife migrates to this park in search of water and pasture, especially the giant tuskers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]The African big-five are most sought after by this Park. Tarangire is an ironic park that consists of Giraffes, elephants, Rhinos Leopards and Buffaloes not leaving aside the Warthogs. Baobab trees can be seen all over the park, and the most interesting part is seeing an elephant under one. The months of June to October are the best recommended times to visit Tarangire National Park, creating an ideal condition for game viewing. In the 1900s the British government under the colonial masters created game reserves to conserve the wildlife in this region and Trangire plains were then part of the great Masai Steppe Game Reserve. By 1951 Tarangire was established as a wildlife reserve and in 1970 it was declared a National park.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="1066" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text="What is the best time to visit Tarangire National Park?" font_container="tag:h2|font_size:26|text_align:left|color:%23000000" google_fonts="font_family:Dosis%3A200%2C300%2Cregular%2C500%2C600%2C700%2C800|font_style:600%20bold%20regular%3A600%3Anormal" css=".vc_custom_1728681614990{margin-top: 11px !important;margin-bottom: 3px !important;}"][vc_column_text]Located 2 hours from Arusha town and airport, Tarangire is a convenient visit from Arusha for day trips. A better recommendation would be 2 to 3 days in the dry season and 1 to 2 days during the wet season. Hippos are the common mammals seen wallowing in the swamps, especially during wet days. Wild dogs and hyenas can often be seen.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="1067" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="1069" img_size="full" style="vc_box_rounded"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="648" img_size="full" css=".vc_custom_1728681756138{margin-top: 1px !important;margin-bottom: 1px !important;}"][vc_separator color="black" css=".vc_custom_1728681766500{margin-top: 3px !important;margin-bottom: 11px !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
